UFC on ESPN 29: ‘Cannonier vs. Gastelum’ Preston’s Precise Picks+Best Bet

UFC is hitting us with a 12-fight card that is sure to excite any mma fan!

Our attention turns to a Featherweight fight between Austin Lingo (8-1) versus Luis Saldana (15-6). Lingo is 1-1 under the UFC brand with his last fight being a win by Unanimous Decision. He tends to leave himself open and has taken 3.17 significant strikes per minute. Lingo is only averaging one takedown per fight while Saldana has only defended takedowns inside the octagon.

Saldana is 2-0 under the UFC brand and his first win was an impressive finish by KO/TKO; where he did not let up. That is the killer instinct in a fighter you want when you are placing a wager. Saldana’s next fight was against a brutally tough Jordan Griffin where Saldana went the distance and won by Unanimous Decision.

This is going to be a fast tempo fight with a lot of different looks. Saldana lands more significant strikes with a higher accuracy. Also with a 64% and only absorbing 1.79 significant strikes per minute. I am rolling with the more accurate striker here with better overall optics. Another nugget is Saldana fights out of the MMA Lab which is pushing some major contenders into the octagon. Something to be on the lookout for.

Preston’s Best Bet: Luis Saldana ML (-122)
