LA Lakers (-435) vs. Chicago Bulls (+335)
LeBron and company take to the road for a match up against the red-hot Bulls. The Bulls are outscoring the Lakers in general and scoring more at home than the Lakers are on the road. Good defense travels and the Lakers will show up well on that side of the ball. However, the Bulls are really gelling right now and I like their chances based on their current form.
Last night the Bulls put there foot on the gas and never looked back against the Hornets. I’m not worried so much about the back-to-back games with the Bulls roster since they are one of the youngest teams in the league. Denzel Valentine and this Bulls bench is something to brag about. The Bulls second unit is better than the Lakers and that’s a big reason I like the Bulls tonight. Typically when I believe the Lakers will be in firm control the other team rises to the level of their play.
Colby White is starting to look like the player we know he has the potential to be. I like that the Bulls are not selfish with the basketball and rank higher than the Lakers in assists per game. Chicago is also shooting a higher percentage from the stripe. Let’s not forget Zach Lavine who has been consistently pouring it on during this Bulls three game winning streak. Another player who has continued to impress in his role is Thaddeus Young. Lauri Markkanen coming back has been refreshing. Even with Wendell Carter Jr. out Daniel Gafford and rookie Patrick Williams have played big minutes. The theme is the Bulls are getting help from all-over. Even Garrett Temple is pitching in.
LeBron and Anthony Davis will be the main drivers for the Lakers tonight. Dennis Schroder has come on strong and the Lakers have plenty of role players. This is the second game of the Lakers current road trip and after a big performance against the Milwaukee Bucks I am seeing them dip enough for the Bulls to cover the spread.
My wager: Chicago Bulls +9.5 (-110) on DraftKings Sportsbook.
