The Line: New Orleans Saints (-205) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (+175).
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is coming off of an impressive performance against the Panthers defense last week. Carr went 22/30 passing for 239 yards, and one touchdown. Raiders running back Josh Jacobs rushed for three touchdowns on 25 carries for 93 yards. However, the Raiders defense had a hard time slowing down the Panthers. Tailing off in the fourth quarter. Almost costing the Raiders a win.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees was phenomenal against a tough Buccaneers defense. Brees was 18/30 passing for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Having Latavius Murray and Alvin Kamara in the backfield is a real blessing for the Saints. Murray is the harder running back, and Kamara is the more flashy of the duo who excels in the open field. Although, wide receiver Michael Thomas will be out for the Saints; they are not short on firepower.
Raiders defense bolsters a fairly young and inexperienced secondary. Drew Brees will be picking on them throughout the course of this game. This is really a patch-work Raiders defense against a high-octane Saints offense; that can beat you through the air or on the ground. I have been very critical of the Saints defense. However, when you look at what they were able to do against a talented Buccaneers offense; I’m counting on that momentum to carry through tonight.
My picks: Alvin Kamara Anytime TD (-120). Saints cover the spread -4 (-110).
