Twins vs. White Sox preview and best bet

Moneyline: Twins +135 vs. White Sox -146

White Sox come in this game rolling with a 32-16 record. Clinging on to sole possession of first place in the AL Central. Minnesota Twins are keeping the division interesting with a 30-20 record accompanied by a sure fire hitting rotation.

The pitcher duel tonight is a bit one-sided with the White Sox having the better of both starting pitchers. White Sox are sending their ace Lucas Giolito (4-2) to the mound. Twins send Jake Odorizzi (0-1) to the mound. Odorizzi has battled injury most of this season. Both teams hit the ball well and have bullpens that have stepped it up during this stretch of the season. I would give the bullpen advantage to the White Sox in this series for the simple fact they have looked sharp as of late.

White Sox rank fifth in On Base Percentage (OBP). Opposed to the Twins who rank nineteenth. White Sox rank second in batting average. Opposed to the Twins who rank sixteenth. White Sox rank third in slugging percentage opposed to the Twins who rank fourteenth. This furthers my point that the White Sox are the hotter hitting team. White Sox have won the last two meetings against the Twins convincingly.

My best bet: Luis Robert OVER 0.5 Total Hits (-143). Robert has quickly moved up to being considered as one of the elite hitters in the White Sox rotation. Not only that but he is currently one of the best pure sluggers in the entire MLB. In Robert’s last three games played he has been on base in each of them. Robert’s last rest day was September 13th. Robert’s has not faced Twins SP J. Odorizzi before.

5-2 White Sox def. Twins
