2nd fight on the prelims features: Jamall Emmers (-375) vs. Vince Cachero (+285). I found this to be an interesting betting spot outside of the atrocious money line. Cachero is taking this fight on short notice against Emmers who is looking to make a statement in the featherweight division. The UFC sees Emmers as a hidden gem and he will look to put on a show to get a bigger fight and bigger payday. Cachero normally fights at bantamweight and is bumping up a weight class on short notice for this bout. Emmers has a serious size and reach advantage in this fight. Emmers is the more experienced fighter with a record of (17-5) compared to Cachero’s record of (7-2). Anticipating Cachero to gas out early and Emmers to finish him inside the distance. My wager: Jamall Emmers wins inside the distance (+120).
6th fight on the card features: Ed Herman (+130) vs. Gerald Meerschaert (-160). Event though Ed Herman hasn’t fought since November 2019 he was on a two fight winning streak, and lost a split decision prior to that against Gian Villante; who is still fighting well as of late. Meerschaert has fought twice this year going 1-1. Most recently Meerschaert fought June 6, 2020. in an awful KO loss to Ian Heinisch. Meerschaert is a slow starter and throws a lower volume of strikes then most opponents he faces. Ed Herman is the opposite he will throw his hands heavy and often. They don’t call Ed Herman “Short Fuse” for nothing Watch for Herman to slip some punches and set up some traps to really damage Meerschaert. Good chance this doesn’t go the distance. My wager: Ed Herman ML (+130).
7th fight on the card features: Lando Vannata (-160) vs. Bobby Green (+130). This is actually a rematch from 2017 that ended in a draw. Bobby Green’s only draw on his (25-10-1) record is from this bout. Both fighters are heavily improved since that meeting. Lando Vannata enters this match with a (11-4-2) record. Vannata age 28 and Green age 33 shouldn’t matter although as you can see Bobby Green has an experience advantage. It is important to note that in the first meeting between these two fighters that Bobby Green appeared to be the fresher and better fighter through 3 rounds but an illegal knee costed him 2 points conceding the round to Vannata. For Green to end this in a draw was impressive from that point of view. Green looked was in full control against savvy veteran Clay Guida this year on June 20th. Winning that bout by Unanimous Decision. Vannata was the better fighter in his last outing back on Feb. 15th of this year against Yancy Medeiros. Ultimately winning that bout by Unanimous Decision. Look for both fighters to pick up where they left off and give us a fight of the night performance. This may go the distance but I have a gut feeling Green will pressure Vannata through the entire fight in search of a finish. My wager: Bobby Green ML (+130).
